Modern Terminals Limited implements Navis N4

Modern Terminals Limited has implemented Navis’ N4 Terminal Operating System (TOS) at its facilities in Hong Kong and DaChan Bay.

The terminal operator opened Hong Kong’s first purpose-built container-handling facility in 1972.

Today, it owns and operates container terminals at the Kwai Tsing Container Port in Hong Kong and DaChan Bay Terminals in the Pearl River Delta region.

The ports in Hong Kong and DaChan Bay utilise a total of 42 quay cranes and 146 Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes, handling over 6.5 million TEU annual.

The implementation of the modernised TOS seeks to provide high-quality services to its customers and other users of the terminals while supporting Modern Terminals’ overall operations.

Due to travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the launch of the systems were supported remotely by Navis’ Professional Services team.

The team delivered a smooth and quick implementation, improving the terminal’s time to value.

Navis’ N4 TOS has also been brought online at Terminal Container Ravenna (TCR) to increase its efficiency and productivity.

The news came as the terminal celebrated 20 years of business experience.
