Ever Forward successfully refloated
The Ever Forward has been successfully refloated after being stuck in Chesapeake Bay for almost a month.
The 12,000 TEU box ship will return to the Port of Baltimore to reload the cargo that was discharged earlier this month. It will then continue its previously scheduled voyage.
The vessel has been found to be free of damage from the incident and there is no indication of fuel leakage or pollution.

“Evergreen Line is deeply appreciative of the efforts put forth by Donjon-Smit, the salvor, the US Coast Guard, competent authorities of the State of Maryland, and the service providers that were engaged, all of whom worked hard to bring this event to a successful conclusion,” said Evergreen in a statement.
The vessel first ran aground near Baltimore on 16 March.
General Average was declared for the Ever Forward after two unsuccessful attempts to free the ship on 29 and 30 March.
