HHLA refuses to be held back by COVID-19

German terminal operator Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has said the supply of cargo and goods is ensured despite measures taken to fight COVID-19, or coronavirus.

In a statement, HHLA’s CEO Angela Titzrath said the company was aware of its “special responsibility as a service provider for Germany” and that it will work to keep the country supplied.

Titzrath also said that operations at HHLA’s main facility at the Port of Hamburg, as well as Tallinn, Estonia, and Odessa, Ukraine, will be guaranteed. The same was also said for its rail subsidiary Metrans.

Germany is one of the most badly affected European countries – as of 17 March 2020 it has recorded 7,636 cases, with 17 deaths.
