Swire Group joins the Maersk carbon cutting group

John Swire & Sons Limited, the parent company of the Swire Group, has signed a partnership agreement with the Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping.

The partnership will see both parties collaborate and commit to developing safe and sustainable decarbonisation solutions for the maritime industry.

As a strategic partner to the Center, John Swire & Sons will provide support in realising the Center’s transition strategy while working together on and exploring opportunities to fund and research practical solutions to accelerate decarbonisation.

French oil and gas company TotalEnergies also joined the Center as a strategic partner, looking into environmentally friendly shipping solutions as well. Announced in February 2021, the partnership allows the shipping sector to develop new low-carbon alternative fuels and carbon neutrality solutions.
