Hyundai Samho launches Hyundai Infra Solutions spin-off
Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) has turned its industrial plant and crane division into a wholly owned subsidiary named Hyundai Infra Solutions (HIS) in order to boost competitiveness.
HIS was launched on 3 May 2021 through a vertical spin-off in order to specialise its existing business, to strengthen the competitiveness and to gain new growth momentum.
The Hyundai Infra Solutions spin-off will allow HSHI to focus on the construction of ships, meanwhile, HIS will be dedicated to manufacturing crane and bulk handling plant.
“HIS will raise core competencies for the existing business (container crane, bulk handling plant and shipyard crane) by upgrading eco-friendly and automation technology as well as platform-based total port solution.” Said Yune Sung-il, CEO of HIS. “In addition, HIS is willing to expand its business into various industrial plant and therefore grow to be globally reputable Total Port & Infra Solution Provider.”
As of the spin-off date on 3 May whole employees and assets including equipment, intellectual property of HSHI have been transferred to HIS together with all authority and responsibility for all projects.
HIS has been doing business in port cranes, bulk handling system, shipyard crane and Industrial plants. HIS plans to maintain its production base and branch office in YeongamGun, Jeollanamdo Province.
HIS is recognised for highest level of crane manufacturing ability with recent awarding of Double Trolley Quay Crane, the most sophisticated crane with advanced automation and remote control technology from Singapore PSA and Busan Port Authority.
