Maersk integrates KGH Customs into business

A.P. Moller-Maersk (Maersk) has said it has made a new organisational structure for KGH Customs Services, a subsidiary it acquired in July 2020.

In a statement, Maersk said KGH Customs will have six business areas geographically and covering countries in Europe, with two specialised Business Units – Consulting and Digital – organised on functional basis, as well as central commercial and support functions, which will work in close collaboration with respective teams in the company.

“We are very proud of our new organisation, which has taken shape with such amazing speed”, Lars Börjesson, CEO of KGH Customs Services and head of Maersk’s customs services activities in Europe, commented.

“We have brought together fantastic and very competent colleagues from KGH and Maersk into one organisation, that will going forward be marketed as KGH, with a strong link to Maersk and its commercial teams.”

To further strengthen this link, KGH will now receive a new endorsement line “A Maersk Company”, which will also be added to its logo.

“By adding an endorsement line, we combine the strengths of KGH with the size and capabilities of Maersk and create a unique value proposition in the market. By doing so, we also create a visible link between the brands for our customers and employees, which can ease cross selling between us”, Börjesson added.

The addition of KGH Customs Services to the Maersk family strengthens Maersk’s capabilities as an integrated container logistics company, offering end-to-end supply chain solutions to its global customers.

As announced earlier, Lars Borjesson, CEO of KGH, will lead the combined customs related activities of both KGH and Maersk in Europe and will be part of Maersk’s European Leadership Team. Organisational changes will not impact the engagement with customers, who will continue to interact with their current contacts and enjoy the usual level of service and confidentiality will continue to be protected despite enhanced links between the two brands.
