ShibataFenderTeam supplies Port of Rotterdam with steel quay furniture

The ShibataFenderTeam (SFT) has supplied cast steel quay furniture components for the Port of Rotterdam’s offshore terminal.

The delivery for the new berth included 49 sets of cast steel pile saddles, 12 sets of Tricorn bollards with a capacity of 200 tons, 24 pieces of recessed bollards with a capacity of 35 tons, as well as 9 sets of access ladders and a 528 m of steel cope edge protection.

The cast steel bollard saddles had been tested for material properties and tolerance range to conform to manufacturing tolerances.

The offshore terminal at the Port of Rotterdam is part of the larger Maasvlakte II construction project.

With a total area of 42 hectares – including a 500-meter deep-water quay, a quay wall for inland shipping and two additional berths – the project is aimed at enhancing a sustainable port development in Rotterdam.

In 2021, SFT supplied fender systems for the construction harbour in Rødby, Denmark.
