Seaspan expands container fleet with multiple orders

Seaspan Corporation (Seaspan) has signed an agreement for six 15,500 TEU modern newbuild container ships, with anticipated delivery beginning in 2023 and extending into the middle of 2024.

In a statement, Seaspan said the vessels will be scrubber-fitted and include “industry-leading emissions reduction technologies”. Upon completion the vessels will enter long-term charters with leading global liner customers, Seaspan said.

Additionally, Seaspan has also acquired two 8,500 TEU scrubber-fitted vessels which will be delivered during the second quarter of 2021.
