Unifeeder debuts Southern Africa – Middle East service
Unifeeder is to launch its new Southern Africa – Middle East service, aiming to ease the congestion challenges being faced across the region.
The latest offering from the DP World subsidiary will offer a direct connection from Maputo (Mozambique) to key markets in the Middle East and India.
The fortnightly service will begin at the end of April/start of May 2022 and offer market-leading transit times.
When shipping via Maputo, customers will get exclusive direct connectivity to Jebel Ali (UAE) and Mundra (India), with voyages taking 11 and 15 days respectively.
Faster and more efficient transportation for Johannesburg (South Africa), Komatipoort (South Africa), Matsapaha (Swaziland), and Harare (Zimbabwe) with alternative rail and road connections is also available.

Earlier this year, Unifeeder also deployed a carbon neutral towage service on London’s River Thames.
To develop the EcoTow service, towage operator Svitzer converted its whole fleet of 10 towage tugs from marine fuel to sustainable Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO). This reduces towage CO2 emissions by 90 per cent.
